5/18/2017 The big day arrives for PHS Class of '17
Pender High School held its commencement ceremony on Sunday afternoon. And while the date coincided with Mother’s Day, it was an interaction on stage between a father and son that was memorable.
PHS Class of 2017 valedictorian Braden Peters got the opportunity to accept his diploma from his dad, Matt Peters, who is the school board president. In the top photo, the Peters embrace while fellow board member JJ Maise (far left) and secondary principal Eric Miller (far right) watch in the background.
A total of 21 students earned their high school diplomas from Pender. In the bottom photo, the Class of 2017 throws its caps in the air following graduation.
