Harvey Mohnson, 90
Funeral Services for Harvey C. “Roger” Mohnson, 90, West Point, was held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Victory Road Assembly of God Church. Pastor Mark Rose officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
He died Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Premier Estates of West Point.
Harvey was born June 7, 1927 in Colfax County to his parents Gustave and Anna (Simeral) Mohnson.
He is survived by his children Karen Schmode, Lana (Paul) Thun, Linda Maslonka, Grace Jump, Patty (Rick) Lewin, Judy Rogers, Peggy (Dan) Garvin and Scott Mohnson, 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, brother Leo, sister Edwina Hegr and former wife, Marlene Young.
Harvey was preceded in death by brothers Gus and Edward, sisters Anna, Eldorna, Tina, Jenna, and Mamie, two son-in-laws, one grandson, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Mace Goslin, 82
Mace Goslin, 82, of Rosalie, died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home in Rosalie.
A memorial service was held at the Rosalie Town Hall on July 8 with burial at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft.
Mace was born July 11, 1935 to Flora Cadue and Hillary Goslin.
He was the youngest of nine siblings, including Charles, Maurice, Roland, Vivian, Phyllis, Gertrude “Trudy,” Hillary and Alice.
Mace was married 61 years to Anita Louise Goslin and the couple had three children, Cathy, Mace “Buddy” Goslin, Jr., and Lydia. For more than 50 years he owned and operated the family business, “Indian Drywall.” Mace was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness Onawa Congregation.
He is survived by his children, Cathy Welchert of Arizona, Mace “Buddy” Goslin Jr. of Topeka, Kan., and Lydia Goslin of Mayetta, Kan.; seven grandchildren and sisters, Hillary and Gertrude “Trudy.”
He is preceded by his parents; siblings, Charles, Maurice, Roland, Vivian, Phyllis, Alice; grandson, Eric Goslin and son-in-law, Richard “Rick” Welchert.
Daniel Combs, 67
Daniel D. Combs, 67, of Emerson died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, with Father Gerald Leise officiating. Inurnment was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.
Daniel was born November 9, 1949 in Allen, to Carol and Helen (Messerschmidt) Combs. He was active in sports growing up and graduated from Emerson High School in 1968. Daniel was in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a QA inspector.
He enjoyed collecting anything about wolves and model trains. Daniel was known as a good and funny man who would help anyone with anything. He loved his family, friends and dog, Kota. Daniel is survived by his son, Brian Combs (Giselle Leyte-Vidal) of Emerson; sister, Esther; brother, Dave, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Abel Perez, 75
Abel Perez, 75, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson.
Father Anthony Weidner will be celebrating Mass. The visitation will be Thursday, July 13, from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
