A long time coming snuck up on me!
It’s official, after 15 years of being a stay-at home-mom to our four kids — and taking care of dozens of other munchkins at my in-home daycare over that time — I will now be seen around town in something other than yoga pants and a messy hair bun.
I am joining the teams at The Pender Times and Dakota County Star (not sure what my official title will be) probably as the errand girl for quite sometime until I get the feel of things!
This has been a plan in the works since we moved to Pender in 2008 and purchased The Pender Times in 2009.
Our oldest, Layne, who was entering kindergarten at the time, will now be starting the 2017-2018 school year as a PHS freshman and our youngest, Blake, is starting kindergarten himself. With our kids all in school full-time (Layne as freshman, Kylie in seventh grade, Leah in second grade and Blake in kindergarten) and not needing their momma as much (sigh), it made sense to now join in on the fun at our family newspapers.
I am anxiously excited about this new chapter — but also a bit sad that our kids are to the age that allows me to take this next step. Not to mention how I will truly miss all my daycare kids and families! All in all, I’m ready for a new chapter to begin and am looking forward to taking care of our longtime customers and new ones.
